Exploring presenting work in different gallery contexts
I am interested in how time based work is constantly shown in galleries in traditional ‘eye level’ positions. I think that digital projection or screen based work has the potential to ask different questions and in a variety of new ways.
This video was designed to be shown on the floor of the gallery. A digital photo-frame was hidden in a box construction, with a circular hole cut in the top, for the Night Light exhibition at Vernon Street building at Leeds College of Art.
The series of short sketches were shot under an iPhone suspended from the ceiling. The figures were encouraged to respond to the ‘hole’ in the ceiling above them including the dance music, rainfall and laughter.
